My garden is my peaceful place.
My neighbor gave me 30 irises that I can't plant right now. How can I store the irises? Should I plant in the fall or the spring? We live in Mineral VA. Thanks, Linda

They are more likely to bloom better next spring if they have a chance to get firmly rooted before the ground freezes. So best to plant them by early September. Store them in a cool, dry, shaded place until planting.
