I don't have any fall pics, but this Dahlia is kinda autumnal tones Smiling The gardens have looked rather sad throughout this extremely dry autumn, well...they actually look downright shitty, LOL. Looking forward to spring already!

I too am looking forward to Spring. It's always an exciting time of the year... and busy doing garden clean up and getting ready for planting.

Psst - may want to add the link to the old thread. Whistling

Yes but I may not be able to plant anything here. I did buy a dozen tulipa violacca today. bulbs are the size of crocus bulbs.

Lucy, that's normal for species tulip bulbs to be that size- they're still blooming sized. That's one of the things I love about the species, they're so much easier to plant!

I didn't expect anything going to be 4" to be very big. I have never had these before, so they will be a bit of fun. Pictured as red.

I love the little species tulips (hi, everybody, I've been lurking, but busy busy busy). I've been planting them for several years and while some don't last very long, some last forever and put out lovely bunches of new plants. I've always had trouble keeping T. sylvestris. I think we're maybe on the edge of their hardiness zones, but T. orphanidea flava has more than double the number of plants

No more blooms here.
Deer ate the tops of hydrangeas.
Some winter collages

Oh, yikes on the deer munching your plants. I havent seen any this year. Though where we are at, suburbia - we usually dont get many. Last year we had a Doe and Bambi. fun to watch - and she really only nibbled on my NE asters, which was fine, because it kept them shorter.

We are currently having our first snow fall... probably 1.5" on the ground so far... maybe 1" more coming. Buddy is happy.. .he keeps going in and out.

Nice pics on the heuchera, Neal:)

We have only just begun to get cold weather this week. I had zinnias and marigolds still blooming last week! I could completely bypass the snow this year. We had plenty last year.

It's funny..... as Dh was sitting in his chair watching the weather... he said, "Are you ready to go to Florida?"

we went last year for 3 weeks. Will have to see what this winter brings us. We have plenty of friends who say "come on down".

Thanks Bev, but those are Jo Anne's pics, LOL. I do love the way Heuchera look with frost on them- at least there's something pretty to look at in winter!

I imagine Jo Anne's heuchera are like mine, buried under snow. We had 2 1/2 feet overnight and it just keeps coming. No school today. I can't even see the covers I put over my tiny trees. My gardens are very tucked in for the winter.

Oh, then...nice pics, Jo Ann:))

We had a snow event on Saturday. Never stayed on the roadways, but it was mighty pretty coming down while dd and I shopped and had lunch. It is extremely cold here as we are getting punched by that system that looks to be all over the east coast. Highs in the low 30's yesterday. 20 outside right now...brrrr! Must go warm the car!!
