Hi, I need help with i.d. for some roses, which we found on our property 30 years ago, NY zone 6. They send out runners, so new stems pop up everywhere, so very aggressive, and have smaller pink single flowers, with five petals, yellow stamens. I always assumed them to be rugosa, because of their very prickly stems up and down the stem (not thorns) but the flower size is smaller then other rugosa roses I have which I purchased (also years ago). I'm now thinking its some kind of wild species rose? I'm including a bunch of photos. Thanks in advance for your help!

I can't name it, but I have suggested your inquiry be moved to the rose forum where many experienced growers will see it. Your pictures are excellent.

Thinking multiflora sp. They're pretty common around here although I've never seen them as neon looking as yours. Around here they're usually a pale pink.

Thanks porkpal for suggesting they go in the rose forum! As for multiflora, thanks Amanda for suggestion and I'll see what others have to say!

I just got a response from a Dave's Garden member, who suggested possibly Rosa acicularis, a wild rose. Does this seem possible to anyone newly reading this post?
