Love the shape of these leaves when they're young, but when they get bigger/older they get the scrunchy look and are not as attractive. You can't see the "stingray' shape so much.

Are there any cultural adjustments that will help keep the leaves flatter?

I'm excited to have A. Stingray this year, I got about a dozen very small bulbils from a friend in January, I tried to force them all winter with no luck, they now have2-3 leaves about golfball sized...
Figures that as soon as I got the full size one, they come out with a new version...

I've yet to find a source for babyray plants, but once the liner producers get ahold of em, it seems they become readily available...

A few years ago, lakesidecallas (ATP member), had a co-op for alos, colos,etc. from Agristarts. It was a great one. Maybe we should try to get a co-op going next winter/early spring. If I remember correctly, the plants came in May or June. They were liners, but jumped once the summer heat hit them. I lost some to the wet cold winter we had that year, but some are still thriving. The sting-ray was one that didn't come back, but that's okay. I have too many plants anyway.

An aroid co-op would be great, I intend to post a classified here to sell my overage, and hopefully trade a few folks around here!

I repotted my Stingray this spring (after it uprooted itself during a windstorm). In my wisdom, I didn't reuse the soil in the previous pot and also didn't dump that pot because it was full of Stingray "nuts". Just covered it with a heavy duty black bag so rain wouldn't saturate it. Three months later, husband peels back the bag and low and behold! We now have about 40 Stingray plants that are 4-6" tall! A good friend assured me that the "nuts" would not grow. Have to let her know the results!

I'm guessing this friend wasn't very familiar with alocasias, those little nuts are reliable as can be!

Your plant must have been of good size to have 40 bulbils they make em fast once mature, but 40 is alot!

Interesting idea to cover it, I wouldn't have, and would have told that will cook em to death, shows what I know....
