Thread OP

Hi, looking to redo this stone patio/steps area. Having a tough time coming up with an idea of what I want to do other than redo it with the irregular flagstone look but not even sure of that.

I don't know what your budget is. I tend to think economically.
Are those paving stones slate? Whatever they are, they look ok. Can you get more the same? Most of them look all right; the steps can stay as they are, with a little trimming at the forward edge. The section in the right-hand lower corner should be taken apart and rebuilt with a brick retaining front wall to match the steps, levelled, and whole paving stones to top it. Then a couple of much bigger planters, preferably in the red colour range to echo the brick-work.
The cement block structure looks like a barbeque. If it's functional, it could be made to look better with a facing of slate. You might salvage that broken paving, break it up into smaller pieces and incorporate it, along with a few thick coloured tiles - red/orange/green/ocher - broken up even smaller, into a mosaic design.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.

IF, if every thing is cemented in , and it looks to be, redoing it will be a major redo as the top stone will break apart and separating any thing is going to be difficults as cemented bricks/paving stones break easily.
Plus you will have to clean cement off of them to reuse them.

I would totally redo the whole thing , IF, you want to rework it. I tip my hat to you.
