I believe that this is Perovskia Blue Spire ?

Walking past it, assuming it to be Lavender, I had a sniff and found that whilst it did have a Lavender scent, it also had Sage (50/50).

Can anybody confirm this please ?

It is Salvia yangii, which until recently was called Perovskia atriplicifolia. These days I find it easier to just call it by its common name, Russian Sage. (Lol, I'm reminded of a song with the line, "but my real name is Mr. Earl")

No way to confirm it is 'Blue Spire' cultivar .

Edit to add: I find the scent entirely sagelike, no lavender that I can detect. By the scent alone, it makes me wonder why the plant-naming people couldn't figure it out without needing a DNA test!

Second addition: things like this will get more views in the Plant ID forum, where you usually post. This is sort of an obscure forum. I hope some others see it and can identify the cultivar.

I know, but when I post there people complain, for some reason.

I will likely have had Lavender on my fingers already, as I like to just get a hint when I see some.

I'm the same way with lavender; can't keep my hands off!

If you want a plant identified, can't understand why anyone would complain if you post in Plant ID forum. But choose whichever forum feels most comfortable. If the moderators think it's misplaced, they'll relocate it for you.

I had been getting hassle from some, they thought that I was posting too much and that some of my questions were too easy to answer.

That is very disheartening to hear. To my mind the sole purpose is to be helpful, regardless of how many you post, or how "simple/easy" it may seem to be to answer. Sighing! Group hug

That's what I thought, but you know how sniffy some can be.

As others have mentioned - mine smells definitely like sage. Although funny thing...I do have mine planted near my Lavendar patch since their needs are similar. Rolling on the floor laughing
“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...
