scape is about 28-30inches high. I'm expecting another bloom tomorrow or Thurs, and will measure it then. It bloomed for the first time this week, so it's not an early or extra-early. But she sure is pretty! Thumbs up

edit.... at yesterday's daylily meeting, one of the plants on the bargain table was Cameroon Nights. I *know* I bought Cameroon NIghts in 2012, so that MIGHT be what this is. I bought it again yesterday, and will compare them when they bloom. I'll also be looking to see if I have my original Cameroon Nights planted somehwere else, but I know that I put my deep-colors in that particular bed, so it's a decent possibility that it might be C.N. Shrug! We'll see....

It also resembles Peacock Maiden, which is another one I know I bought in 2012. So it's probably one of those 2.

Do you know where you got it at, or have a list of possibilities? It doesn't really have any distinguishing features other than the midrib stripe. I always feel bad when I tell someone "it's almost impossible to guess what it could be"

All I know is I added it last year, which means it came to me from 1 of 2 local DL society sales. I've looked up the ones that I thought it might be, and it's probably not. But I can't find my list of plants I bought from sales last year, or the map I made of that bed (if I made a map). And I was just out digging all around it - there's no marker at all.

It sure is pretty, though! Thumbs up

and Juli, you dn't have to feel bad when you tell me things like that. I post it here in the hopes that someone else has it growing in their garden, not in the hopes that someone will be able to pick it out of the 72K registered cultivars. Hilarious!

When planting, you might want to try this trick.

If you do lose your map or tag, at least when you dig it up to divide or move, you will find the name.

Do you think either of the daylily clubs could help ID? I think some clubs' members donate plants for sales, while others purchase the plants from growers. Might be worth asking anyway.

I would lean toward Peacock Maiden. Cameroon Night is more 'pinched' and has Peacock Maiden as a parent. My opinion, though. Smiling

I'm leaning that same direction, especially given scape height. We'll see what I think when they bloom....
