Thread OP

I am new to Plumeria. I just received a Plumeria cutting that was called maui rainbow. I had already potted it up before finding this forum. The cutting is in a grow tent in my basement that stays around 77 degrees with 12 hours of light. Humidity is 65%. I live in Ohio. I was wondering what my chances are of the cutting actually rooting. I have 1 other Plumeria that was gifted to me. I have no idea what type it is but in the last 2 years it has bloomed multiple times for me. Last winter it was in the tent and bloomed, but it was already rooted. That plant spends the summer outside and winter under LED growlights.

@nerdniz I have no experience growing plumeria under grow light but should do fine if your other plumeria is blooming for you. Which means you have the right growing conditions.

Important for rooting a cutting is do not over water, media needs to be moist but not sopping wet. Do not water (unless media gets really dry) until leaves start to sprout 🌱!

Please update us and post a photo of your plumeria too so you can monitor the progress. Bottom heat is important so if you have a heat map that would help.

Thanks for the info! I do have a heat mat, but the tent stays in the high 70s so I might wait a bit. I just brought the other 2 year old plumeria in for the winter and it wont fit in the tent.
