Hello,

I recently acquired a Bougainvilleas and it's been quarantined for a week because I have limited bright spaces in my place and previous issues with bugs when bringing in new plants.

Now it's on my balcony space and seems to have climatized to it's living quarters since new growth is showing and it's flowering again.

It was a bit of a rescue and the soil seems a bit suspect that there may a root issue, so I will be re-potting it in the next days. My question is regarding pruning some dry bits. There's one branch that seems completely done for, I assume I can remove it completely. But the healthy branches show dried bits and I'm not sure if this is part of it or if I should take these off as well?

Welcome to the site!

Cannot see any problems with removing the dead branch.

Moving the question to the Tropical forum so other can weigh in.

Thank you Rj!

The dried branch was not fully gone after all. I cut quite a bit and it's showing new growth at the lower end now. It's all growing nicely with new soil and seems to have adjusted well.

From the new flowers I can see that the little dried bits I was concerned about were just where the old flowers had fallen. I'm just going to leave it since I don't think it's wasting any energy on that.
