It snowed today and is expected to do it again, off and on, all week. Thankful that I don't have to drive to town on Wednesday for the OG's optometrist appointment.... because he's finally been booked for a preliminary with the eye surgeon! Should get that cataract done early in the new year.

This is normal for here. The year we moved to this house, it started snowing on October 30 and only took a couple of rests until the end of March. Our dogs ran right over the fence we had taken such trouble to build before we brought them. We haven't had another year quite so white, but several came close.
The up-side is, if you have an indoor project like writing a novel, there are not too many distractions. We just hunker down, keep feeding the stove, and look at seed catalogues.

I may sound crazy, but I am thankful for the crisp mornings with frost. I am also thankful for a snow sift we got just a couple days ago. It looked beautiful!

It wasn't a great introduction to the area. But it turned out quite a nice neighbourhood in the long run. Spring is worth staying awake for, fall is spectacular, we have no poisonous reptiles or fungi; earthquakes are far away; too low for mud- and rock-slides, too high for big floods. I'm thankful I live here, considering how many dangerous and terrible places there are.
Anyway, the pretty little marshmallow-fluff snow of early morning was gone by noon.
