Chances of developing roots on a prolif here in Denver are slim and none. Hot and dry - there's no humidity to encourage root growth. So here's the method I developed.
Cut prolifs and remove as much of the scape as possible. Place a paper towel flat on a work surface and fold up the bottom third. Place your prolif on the top third.
Fold up the bottom two-thirds to cover the prolif.
Roll it tightly, contact with the bottom of the prolif where you'll get your roots ensures the best root growth.
I use Priority Mail envelopes (the plastic fabric ones) to make waterproof labels. Roll a label into the bundle.
Place in a shallow can or small plastic cup and add just enough water to keep the paper towel moist.
Pinch the bottom of the bundle to make sure the base is in contact with the wet paper towel!
Growth after 2 weeks!
