Little round holes about the size of a pencil are usually caused by leaf-cutter bees which are pretty harmless.

Agree with this. It's always at the edge, never a hole in the middle of the leaf.

If there are alot of smaller ones (also at the margin), they could be a sign of vine weevils too, which are a serious pest. Go out at night with a torch to confirm.
