I agree it looks like Copper Spoons (Kalanchoe orgyalis); other common names are Toareny, Cinnamon Bear and Shoe Leather Kalanchoe. Here's our database listing for the plant:

I agree, before taking a cutting, it's always important and the polite thing to do, to ask permission of the property owner. Many property owners will allow it without hesitation but some do not want guests snipping their plants for any reason, which is understandable in some circumstances because if every guest decided to take a cutting or two of a plant they liked while on holiday/vacation, it could lead to a not so pretty landscape aesthetic, in very short time.
