hey!

I got this guy from a local nursery maybe about 2 months ago, it had 2 leaves and one unfurling, and as soon as the new growth unfurled it dropped a a leaf. it did this maybe about 3 times before i repotted it, and then my cat got to the new growth and snapped it in half and it died. sob story.

this is the only leaf i currently have, and it's started to brown, i don't know why.

is there anyway i can save it? if i can't save it, i'm just gonna replant the bulb, but i'd love some tips on how to make caladium happy, cause i've tried everything with this guy and it's just been downhill Sighing!

thanks!

Is it winter where you are? If so, its going dormant (yes even in warm climates caladium goes dormant). If its not, you may have spider mites. I'm not sure if the fuzzy look is a part of that plants markings or damage from bugs. Sure the leaf over. Is there webbing" Can you see small crawling bugs?

its spring here, so it's not going dormant. it doesn't have any pests either, i've checked a bunch of times. all you see is the patterns on the leaf, the one thing that's different is the browning/yellowing around the edge.

it's getting worse by the hour, at this rate i'm pretty sure i'm gonna wake up tomorrow and it'll be completely dead 😭

Could it be too early in the spring? Caladiums like very warm soil, when I plant new bulbs I wait until the soil is 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

I looked at your temperatures and looks very hot into upper 90's, is your plant in direct sun, could be sunburn? My caladiums prefer some filtered sun in the hot summer days, this past summer they started to fade early due to us having too many hot days and not enough rain.
