@plantladylin Lin, thank you for all the wonderful photos you submitted in this year's photo contest. They were a delight to see. This photo in particular made me stop and look. That racoon family seems to think you are invading their territory, rather than the other way around. I had a raccoon once become so bold that it knocked on my backdoor when I was delayed in putting out the compost! I know raccoons can be particularly challenging in Florida.

Thank you Lori, we have lots of Raccoons around here but I don't find them challenging. They will raid the bird feeders if there happens to be any seed left late in the day. This particular afternoon I was walking through the backyard when I spotted the mama and 2 youngsters as they were scavenging for seed on the ground beneath a feeder. I guess I startled them because mama raised up in that position and as soon as I snapped the picture, they quickly took off into the woods. Smiling
~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt!
~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot!
