lori,
thanks for your kind words...yes, it is an iris domestica, ( I had to google it for confirmation)...for quite some time, i was unaware of its' identity as a blackberry lily...there is no visible signage at either duke gardens in durham or the raulston arboretum in raleigh, north carolina for the few specimens that i find there
i have volunteered at the arboretum as an official photographer since i retired at the end of 2019....i donate all of the images which pass my deletion process to the arboretum database...the best of those i also share on my flickr site where i am approaching 10 million views...flickr consumes my allotted time (and then some) for social media, so, although i have begun to submit images for the NGA database, i have not participated in the award process within the NGA
i truly appreciate your comments regarding my "eye for detail" and "works of art", i take pride in my work... volunteering at the arboretum gives me both pleasure and purpose as does sharing my images on flickr...if you are so inclined, and have few moments to spare, there are quite a few wonderful images IMHO, (although my wife says i don't have any humble opinions), on my flickr site

thanks again lori, take care, ira
