A bunch of these 2-ft narrow plants have popped up in one the raised beds. They seem to grow very fast initially and then stop right around 2-ft. Should I remove them?

I'm going to suggest its some sort of Ligustrum as it looks like a shrub that keeps popping up in my yard. They're hard to discourage and seem highly invasive. Mine grow more like 2 ft a year.

I agree with Lucy — one of the extremely common, aggressive privets in that area. Not certain of exact species. I used to live in the North Bay and they were everywhere.

yeah... looks like privet to me also.
Luckily, I find that I can easily pull this invasive.
