I have a picture of a pretty orchid at the Missouri Botanical Garden here in St Louis. It was unnamed but I thought it was pretty enough to post to the database under a generic 'orchid' category. Unfortunately, it looks like the orchid database is divided into categories and I don't have a clue which type of orchid this is. I know there are a gazillion named orchids, but can someone narrow down the type of orchid for me? Thanks!

I would say something related to Cattleyas. Did you take a photo of the rest of the plant?

Someone in the Orchid Forum would probably be better at this.

Definitely Cattleya alliance...it actually looks like one I used to have before I jettisoned all the Cattleya alliance from my greenhouse (they are scale MAGNETS for me).

Definitely Cattleya Alliance. It looks very familiar but I can't place it at the moment.

@Ursula might have an idea.

I am reminded of Lc/Cattlianthe Rojo or Lc/Cattlianthe Fire Dance 'Patricia', but I wouldn't write it in stone!
