I adore ferns, so I'm happy to have found this forum. I discovered a fern under some ivy/vinca. Does anyone know what it is? This picture was taken in April. I'm in Maryland, 7a.

Thank you!

Sorry! That picture is fuzzier now that it is posted. Are there any tricks for making images clearer?

The pic is pretty fuzzy, maybe this would help for fern id

Thanks for the link! I wasn't familiar with that site. (It makes a good wish list, too.) New York fern and interrupted fern seem like possibilities. Come spring, I'll know where to look for them to see how they emerge. (I'm including a close up photo.)

Looks like the interupted fern fronds attach to the stem across from each other vs offset like your picture

Thank you! I'm going to clear out more space for them come spring. And now I have an excuse to buy a NY fern, too.

(I grew up south of MSP, but moved far enough south to where we delude ourselves into thinking camellias will thrive.)

I have quite a few ferns just south of MSP!

I bet you do - all that lovely black dirt. We've got clay with a bit of silt here.
