Thread OP

We keep finding these insects in our home, my partner thought it was a mosquito, but I'm not too sure, does anyone know? Thanks!

Don't know what it is (sorry) but it's not a mosquito. Can you give us a sense of size? Also your location.

I live in the south of the UK, and size wise... Probably only a few cm - After doing some research I think it's a winter gnat? But may be wrong!

some sort of gnat, midge, something? Check for sources of moisture in or near the home. I think almost anything in this group starts life in moist conditions. And thus, will want to lay eggs in the same.
Plant it and they will come.
