I am not sure whether this is a Dwarf Banana or a Philodendron. Can someone please help to identify this plant?

It's definitely not a Philodendron but either Musa (Banana) or Canna. I vote a variety of Cannas (Canna)

That's what I was thinking, a dwarf variety of canna lily.

So either Canna or Dwarf Banana, thank you so far. Would a more detailed picture of the leaf or the stem help to further determine what it is? The plant is now about 15 inches high.

Canna. Definitely dwarf if that's a flower bud.

Definitely a Canna, and it's about to bloom. Not a Banana (Musa sp)

Instead if you have any hummers around, they'll get the sweet treat! My hummingbirds love the cannas here.

There are a few different species of Canna and hundreds of cultivars so you may not be able to narrow it down to an exact name but it's definitely a Canna. Our database has 6 pages full of lovely Canna photos: https://garden.org/plants/brow...
