Those are the most number of two toned blooms on cacti I've seen in one place, Cinta. We know what you will be enjoying all of Smiling July!

Thank Bev, Calin. It was funny my daughter asked me who sent me all the new Cactus. She thought I added some this year. They tripled in size this year.

This is turning out to be a perfect garden. It is so hot and dry in this area weeds do not grow and if one thinks it can grow there when we do not have rain for a week and it is 80 degrees. The weeds turn brown and die. So I do not even have to weed this area.

I am going to add this Yucca Color guard to the area. What do you think?

Cinta,
They look beautiful. You sent me some non-yellow. I hope mine bloom next year like that. I now have double the amount you sent me. They do grow great in the heat. My camera started to mess up and I missed the peak of the large patch of yellow cactus above my yard. Mine look great this year. Last year for some reason I only got a few.

Yes Stush, I thought since it was not the common yellow it would grow slower it is growing so much faster than my yellows. But this has been the largest amount of blooms I have ever had. It has to be all the heat we are experiencing.

I hope I sent you the right color but if not I can certainly spare some more for your garden. Rolling on the floor laughing

Someone promised me a red and pink hardy ones but I have not received them yet. I will have to move this garden if I keep collecting these different colors. Hilarious!

I received some from another trade last year and I put them in the back. I was mowing an noticed something glowing in the back of the garden. This one is bright. I will move it to the front. See what future blooms look like if it is this bright in the shade it should really light up the garden with sun. It has purple highlights.

Thank you so much, Cinta.

I will probably purchase them in the spring, or if you want to sell me some then, or do a trade, I would be up for it. I need to get the area all ready, though, and it might not get done this year.

Thank you for the source info!

Polly,
I got some extra yellow pads I can share. Gladly I give as gladly many people gave me. I too will look at that site for some red or burgundy colors but we have hardy opuntia humifusa. Got to watch out for some other varieties.

Funny .... I think this might be the same plant? I am amazed that yours are just now blooming; I took these photos on the first of May at our local botanical garden.

Yes they look like the same bloom.

You have to remember I am in a colder climate. They just lost the foot of snow and ice off their heads in April. They do not sit up until late April beginning of May.
