Daphne w/flowering Quince

Daphne is a round bush in our area, with a sweet scent you can smell quite a way away. Grows next to my Crepe Myrtle and flowering Quince.

A lovely shrub! Is the pink just buds that haven't opened yet? I like the edge of yellow on the leaves, too. What is the cultivar?

Laurie @lauriemorningglory , yes, the buds are pink. It opens up in to white blooms with a pinkish tinge. Very fragrant. Mine is Daphne 'Aureomarginata Rosea'. I was given mine in a small pot by a landscaper. They are hard to get in my area but a good garden center should carry them. Not sure what their zones are for growth. A bonus is that they form a rounded bush that really never needs pruning.

Beautiful, Leslie! Daphne grows here in the NC Mountains, Zone 6, as well.

@Lestv @2Dogsmother Do you have problems with Japanese beetle on your Daphnes?

The Daphnes here are in my neighbor's yard and I have never seen Japanese beetles on them. We don't seem to have many Japanese beetles here; I seldom see more than one or two.

I have not had beetle issues either. Haven't really had any pest issues with my Daphne.
