I really love this guy and he's browning up

A full-sun plant.

Looks just like my C. muscosa, brown and all. I expect it will improve if I quit ignoring it more than I should (mostly missed waterings).

If only my apartment had any light coming in! It has been moved to the western window (facing a sunless alley of course) with the rest of the sun thirsty plants....perhaps he will have to live on the fire escape. I do love him very much. Thank you for identifying

Happy to reply. : ) When bringing plants home, there are always a few that just don't like the conditions we have available to offer. And some can do well even if they don't look like other specimens that are in more light or less light at somebody else's house. When it doesn't work out, it's an opportunity to try something else.

Oh yeah! I love those opportunities to try something else even though there is a little sadness too regarding the poor plant that gives up its spot. But succulents have become so cheap (at least many of them have) that I am happy to try others!

I expect my C. muscosa to do well though even if not perfect. It is one of my favorites now.

I find this plant hard to keep alive as far as individual stems go. They get so long and stringy looking especially over winter inside. It goes best for me when I trim the longest stems and stick the green tips back in the soil often. Using a clay pot seems to help a lot too. Then I can water often w/o rotting the roots.
