That certainly looks delicious - and most vegetables seem to benefit from roasting, I need to give it a try with the squash! Thumbs up

I like the pale green types much better than the dark green ones. Just look prettier to me.

The one I will be growing this year, Tigress, is a pale green type.

Tigess is an excellent zucchini, One of the earliest producers that I have grown. I think of it as a medium green with freckles. Quite attractive.
Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo 'Tigress')
Two examples of pale green cylindrical zucchini that I have grown.
Summer Squash (Cucurbita pepo 'Clarice')
Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo 'Clarimore')
My favorite tho is Cue Ball which is round.

They fare very well in a mixed veg roast, with small whole onions, mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli and/or Brussels sprouts, and any colour of pepper. Some people put in whole tomatoes, but I find roasted tomato skin too tough.
With the scalloped squash, I didn't wait: I picked them very young and pickled them. Sometimes with baby melons and zucchini for a pleasing condiment display.
Behind every opportunity is a disaster in waiting.

I planted my Trigress Zuchinni today. I grew them from seed and all my 12 seeds came up. So I had 12 lovely seedlings. Planted them all.

Zuchinni seedlings I planted out last week are all looking good. Should grow quickly now to make big plants.

It's been a week since I planted my yellow squash and they haven't come up yet so gonna put more seed down. If a bunch come up I'll just move the extras somewhere else.

Squash seedlings looking really good. Growing. They need to be big and strong before the SVB bugs arrive.

Only 2 seeds have sprout and both on 1 hill. When they get bigger I'll move the other one to the other hill so they don't compete with each other. I always get SVBs bad out here so quit growing them for years but they cost a fortune to buy from farmers or stores so trying again. We'll see.

I am really impressed at how great my baby squash plants are growing. At this rate they will be super sized in no time. Hope to get lots of zuchinni this summe before the SVB do their damage and kill them off.

Just bought 2 new plants at a nursery since I'm having issues with seeds germinating. Have one plant from seed alive and gonna put a new plant in the bare hill. The other new one I'll find a spot for.
