Thanks DaisyDo for that link. May I ask how you know the Ridgeway color system is being used? I really don't know. Any information I have has been copied from the Iris Encyclopedia into a Word Doc for my ease of use.

I was just reading about the RHS color chart and saw it will be about $200.00. That is well beyond what I'd like to spend!! And the topic of color is much more involved than I thought.

I really know. Its just that it was referenced in your link, so I thought that you must be thinking it was.

And the new paperback edition that I linked you to at Amazon, shows the paperback edition on sale new for $39.60 . so it may be within your budget after all.

Sure, go ahead! Thumbs up ...and thanks for asking! I tip my hat to you.
Of course I talk to myself; sometimes I need expert advice!

I tried and can't copy it. Don't know why, except there may be a protection here against photo stealing.

I sent an email to Alan McMurtrie, a Canadian hybridizer of Iris reticulata today, asking him about my Iris. His reply came quickly and he says I have just a plain, common Iris reticulata Hort. which did win an Award of Merit from the RHS in 1925. I don't have any particular variety or cultivar.

This is his website. It is still a http site, but I went anyway. http://reticulatas.com/index.h... He has some amazing hybrids. Some are currently being grown out in Holland for commercial distribution, but it takes many years for that to happen.

Question answered. I was kind of hoping I'd have a lost heirloom to be honest. Oh well.
