Hi All,

I am new to planting and I bought a bunch of seeds online for Purple creeping thyme and Red creeping thyme. Being new, I assumed the seeds were right. I just planted after 3-4 weeks a bunch of what I thought was Red creeping thyme. I haven't planted the Purple yet as I don't have as much and it seems less hardy. This is what worries me that the one I planted in the garden beds was not actually red creeping thyme. Online it is tough to tell as there are few sprouting pictures for red creeping thyme, but it is so different than purple creeping thyme in my picture I'm quite worred.

Could someone please identify each of these pictures? One of them I'm pretty comfortable is Purple creeping thyme. Have no idea what the other is, but it is supposed to be Red creeping thyme, based on the seeds I bought. The Red Creeping thyme is around 3-4 weeks new and the Purple is around 6-7 weeks new.

Thanks so much,
Stephen

first pic looks like thyme.
second pic does not, in my opinion. I'd expect purple and red creeping thyme seedlings to be nearly identical in form, if not also color at this stage.
Plant it and they will come.

Thank you. Yah, that is so unfortunate. Planted that 2nd one all over my garden. I am trying different apps to identify it, but at this stage I guess it's too hard to discern. I got Alyssum, garden cress, cudweed, and seaside petunia as options, but not sure any of them are it. Just hope it's a groundcover! Thanks for your help.
