Hi there,

I've been looking for some trees to plant around my fence to provide some privacy from neighbors. I really like the look and structure of Leyland Cypress trees, along with how quickly they grow, but they get too tall and our neighborhood's HOA wouldn't allow that. My max height for a tree would be 30 feet. Does anybody know of any Leyland Cypress varieties or other fast-growing evergreen privacy trees that stay around the 30-foot range? I'm in zone 6b/7a and our soil has a high clay content and is somewhat silty, too.

Thank you,
- Nick

Arborvitae for sure but there are other options.

Holly bushes are evergreen and some cultivars vary in height and if you want berries you will need a male and female.

Yew comes to mind as well. Was thinking of Blue Spruce and other spruce or fir trees but heights vary and I think most of them will get too tall.

@ViburnumValley would definitely have suggestions for you as well.

Hicks yew is evergreen small, 3-4 ft diameter and fairly pest free. Brian
