Hello,

This potted vine is dead...can I simply cut it back down to the root for regrowth? I see it on the outside of homes all the time, mostly healthy with no cutting back.

You can always cut off any dead parts. It may grow back if the roots are still alive.

With English ivy, once they've dried out, it's over. Best to get a new plant and new soil. Most things don't like growing where ivy has been.
