Big Spring texas
Problems with st augustine. Brown patches. Was told common problems are chinch bugs are fungi. How do I treat it and do you think thats what it is How do I treat it naturally to get rid of problems

To me, it looks like that spot is saying it does not want to host turf. Plant something more interesting? Probably drought tolerant.

Before treating or replanting, it's important to determine the problem. Cinch bugs and fungal diseases are entirely different and have different remedies. You might want to consider a professional opinion more adept than the someone who told you it was one or the other.

Here's info about cinch bugs. If you rule out those, research fungal diseases. Then maybe look into lawn alternatives for your area Thumbs up

I just googled your soils in Big Spring TX.
Apparently you're sitting on a gold mine of Loess.
Finer grained than sand, probably not going to support commercial turf grasses.
If I was on that stuff, I'd be looking at edible landscaping.

Someone that had to have grass might look into blue grama (Bouteloua gracilis) and buffalograss (Buchloe dactyloides).
