Okay I have some bulbs I can't id. I know they're not tulips or daffodils.
They appear to have been planted by the previous (and now deceased) owners. They appear in large clusters in flower beds and have spread into the lawn near the beds. Leaves are about 6" long now and as thick as a middle finger in width. Tops are rounded. No sign yet of flowers. Darker green than daffs or tulips too. Clumps are very tightly crowded so suspect I will need to thin them out after they bloom. No they aren't daylilies or lilies either (someone thought this might be what they were)

Any candidates?

The timing, and the fact that they are thick leaves makes me think hyacinths.

maybe but not like the ones I've had before. Will have to wait and see I guess. Could be a variety I've never seen up north??

Look at the foliage on this picture. Hyacinths are different from grape hyacinths, wood hyacinths, water hyacinths, and purple hyacinth beans. Sheesh, you think they'd have picked different common names for all these things.

Could be! Can't wait to see if it is and what colors are there. I need to move the ones that have seeded into the lawn. Best time for this? I've been assuming after they bloom.

Thanks!
