MJ. I searched out pictures of all 7 species within the genus Pseudodracontium (the T and I were transposed) and could not find a single image that came close....possibly your plant is a cultivar?

Here is the species list http://www.aroid.org/genera/ge...

I would suggest you try posting it on the Aroid forum. I saw plants that resembled your leaf markings, but they were in Schismatoglottis so don't think that is right.

Reminds me a bit of one I have, Philodendron brandtianum but I really have no clue, LOL.

Philodendron brandtianum

The Exotic Rainforest site has some great photo's of juvenile and adult leaf forms:

Hi Lin !!
kinda looks like a P. brandianum, but there's a bulb. Person I got it from got it in a large purchase of Amorphophallus bulbs.
Moon, I'll post over on the Aroid forum.
Thanks

LOL, don't mind me .... now that I look more closely at photo's of P. brandiatnum I see the pattern is totally different than your plant; and if it's a bulb it's definitely not Philo.

Good deal MJ....from what I was reading, it looks like Pseudodrcontium is going to be absorbed into Amophophallus family....that should further the confusion. Lariann had some info on Aroidea site, so she may be able to help you.

Good Luck
Moon

Hey Lin....you would not believe the number of times while trying to match MJ's pic I wound up looking at Philo sites....dratted Google Grumbling

As soon as I followed her link, I was 99.999999999 % sure that this was it. I compared the inner variegation multiple times. Apparently there is a Schismatoglottis "Complex" meaning that within a certain order there can be several variations. Ok,,,I happen to like the one I picked up best....It's cool !!
I wish there was a bit more cultural info about it. I'd hate to lose it to over/under water...too much too little sun.

It is a really cool plant. I found a link with some more info.....S asperata is listed as growing in moist woodland/forest...I would take that to mean consistently moist soil and dappled sun to bright shade??

I did find quite a few references to Schismatoglottis on sites dealing with terrariums and water culture, but no real specifics.
