Thread OP

I once bought daylilies from a woman who sold them in Hamilton and later in Ipswich, MA. I was pretty certain the ones I liked were called "Lead Kindly Light." I have been checking with those who sell daylilies and have been told I must be looking for "Kindly Light," not "Lead Kindly Light." It seems to me that the petals on my daylilies are wider than those of "Kindly Light."
Can you tell me if there really is a daylily known as "Lead Kindly Light?"
Thank you,
Jan

I don't know anything about these varieties that you're mentioning, but the people in our daylilies forum certainly will.

In the meantime, yes, 'Lead Kindly Light' exists and you can see our DB entry for it here:

Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Lead Kindly Light')

Introduced in 1967. Parentage is President Giles x Superfine.

Erin, what color was your daylily? The description for Lead Kindly Light in our database shows it as pink/lavender, whereas Kindly Light is yellow.

Thank you for the replies. I appreciate it. The day lily I have is definitely yellow, but the petals seem to be bigger than the ones in the pictures I see of "kindly light." I have done some research on line and think my best option is to order "kindly light." Also, I had no idea there was a separate daylily forum. Thank you.
