Great idea: isolating plants from cross-pollination by cloning them indoors and then giving each clone a separate room!

That seems worth making a short article or "tip".

I've thought about growing some plants in pots so I could drag them to a (relatively) isolated spot just before they bloom. But you have an isolation scheme I never heard of before.

Thanks for a very good idea.
Cloning is a good option for late in the season,
and when I forget to bag blossoms.

Thanks, Rick. I just submitted this in the "Ideas and Articles" section of the site. I wish I had a picture of one of my smaller pots with a clone plant growing in it for the pic.

The first time I did this, it was because, "ooops, I forgot one."

A couple years after that, I had a storm come through late in the season and wipe out my bagged/marked isolated branches before the fruit was mature enough to gather for seeds.

Since then, I've just cloned and brought in whichever varieties I want to gather seeds from and used this method. It works well for me.
