We got an email from Mary Gaskins today that they have seedlings and registered daylilies on the LA. Of course, I had to look. Yes, I wish we were rich, too. We are, just not with money!

I also received an email from Mary about this auction. That $500.00 lily -'GASKINS SEEDLING A-125-2013 TET PARENTS (A-17-2012 X JANET AND BILL)' is just spectacular. Look at that eye and huge edge! Lots of interesting toothy seedlings here. Gaskins auctions are so much fun to watch.

Window shopping is serendipitous and a lot easier on the wallet. Gulp!!

You know, I just discovered Rich's seeds page last night -- and I even put a minimum bid of $6 on two of them at midnight that he'd just posted -- already outbid by 6:00 this morning on one of them, of course. I just had to do it to see how long it would take for someone to outbid me, especially since the other ones that are similar are already over $100 and moving fast...

How I would love to get seedlings from some of those -- but that price! YIKES!!! And if one of my cats stepped on a tiny seedling -- OOOOHHHH NNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!

Dormantsrule: In the past I have brought a lot of seeds from Rich. His seeds are top notch.His crosses well thought out. But more recently the bidding has become so outrageous, I just won't succumb. If you want to pay $140.00+ for 5 seeds, why not just buy the plant? It makes no sense to me, whatsoever. Right now I have about 9 - 1 yr. old seedlings in my garden from seeds won from Rich in 2011, planted last Spring. I paid no more than $5.50 a seed max... and that is high. He does guarantee his seeds. But then so does Dot (Ladylovingdove). I so appreciate that.

Betty: Rich will re-list those seeds again until he runs out of that cross. So keep checking out his listings until late Fall. Hope you get them.

I glanced at them this morning. Glad I am not involved in something like that! Wow, to spend that amount on what are essentially program rejects. Although in a way, I can understand, a good one can help forward someone's program by lightyears pretty quickly - but still....

Wow, this is pretty exciting -- the first seedling was won by Ruby for $1,305 -- Bass Gibson X Gnashing Of Teeth -- and the second one is about to top $1,000!

Me either. I just dont get it at all. I will tho, each to their own, so if that floats their boats, so be it.
Ive never been a fan of Gaskins daylilies anyway, so that probably explains my not getting paying that much for a seedling. I will admit tho, it is fun to see people and their bidding wars.

Simply amazing! The most a seedling went for (and the best one IMHO) was $1,585.55, but they all went for incredible prices! Was fun watching, tho...
