Not yet - he didn't like the pricing - although I gave him the option of selecting only those plants he wanted: at a lesser price. He was also put off by the concept of 'clumps' rather than individually counted rosettes (Who has the time to count 2000 individual rosettes?) Waiting to hear back.
Meanwhile, spent this past week taking a telescoping chainsaw to an overgrown apple orchard. These trees haven't been cared for in over 100 years and it's an massive understatement to say they are a big/tall mess. And if you think wielding a regular chainsaw is tough, try using a telescoping one (fully extended ) for 6 hours a day.

My arms and back are hurting just thinking of it Kate. I used to work in an orchard.

I myself am afraid to use my dad's chainsaw. You know, the one used to cut wood for fire. Good it's summer and we don't need that much wood these days ...

Clumps are better ,planting 2000 rosettes is`nt going to be fun...

I was wondering how they were going to be "numbered" or counted. Up until last year, I did an annual inventory of my semp collection, counting pots as well as individual plants in the pots. These were typed into an Excel spreadsheet and the numbers tallied. So I guess I have to claim that I (at one point in time) did have time to count 2000 rosettes...Last year was tough, so I didn't even try and this year is worse, so no counts this year. With downsizing, I'll maybe try again next year.

The counting is easy, IMHO, compared to the harvest, clean, pack and ship effort required. Hope you still get the order though. Doesn't the guy realize that getting the clumps means he get more plants for the price and that the younger offsets in the clumps means the plants will last longer??

It would seem that he does not get this idea. I've heard nothing since my follow-up to his "I can't afford it" email.

Oh what a bummer Kate. I was so excited about such a huge order.

It may still happen if he lets me send him fewer varieties of the things I have LOADS of. Waiting to hear...
