Yah, Jo Ann--I know weather can cause a false positive for tulip breaking as Tracey says. It's kinda unusual for two plants, each of different cultivars, to come down with it the same year like that. Usually only one plant will get it first and the it moves out from there. Meaning you should have seen something last year on one or the other. If it were me, I would move them to a different spot by themselves this Fall and see what they do next year. My hunch is they will be normal if we have a normal year.
