It's likely Delphinium grandiflorum or a cultivar of that, there's a few of them of which Blue Butterfly is well known.

If you let it go to seed, it should show up in other spots next year. They reseed easily, but not to the point of being invasive.

I welcome any blue plant into my yard, and love larkspur and/or delphs for their clear colors. Hurray for you!
