Parks is about the first online seed vendor I ever bought from.

Of course, I killed most of the first few dozen trays I started, so I concluded that Parks must sell a lot of bum seeds!

(Not really, of course!)

I used to order a lot of seeds from Park. Just don't seem to hit them much anymore. I always liked their packaging though.

Parks shipping for seeds is reasonable, too. But I mostly only buy seeds, not plants, from them. Although I have been tempted by their calibrachoa.

To be clear, my complaint with Summer Hill dates from a co-op back on DG several years ago. Many of the seeds I got did not germinate, the quantity in the seed packs was meager, and the prices, even in a co-op, were on the high side. And they did NOT respond to my complaints. Maybe things have changed since then, tho. Other people seem to think well of them.

Some of my current favorite seed vendors are:

Standard garden fare:
Johnny's, Territorial,

I shop these for bargains and large packets or bulk seeds:
Hazzards, Fedco, Victory.

Fancy or unusual varieties:
Baker Creek, Botanical Interests

Asian seeds:
Tainong, Kitazawa.

Wow, we always get a personal note and free seeds. I thought their prices were reasonable.

Calibrachoa is one flower I hope someone covers if they do a propagation week, although I think that possibly it is one of those plants you are not allowed to propagate... Thumbs down

I don't see why you couldn't propagate them for your own use? You just can't sell them? Or am I totally wrong?

I'm unclear on that part. I do winter them in the greenhouse to try and save.

I took cuttings once and actually got them to root, but I don't have much luck overwintering anything that's susceptible to aphids, whiteflies or spider mites. And I've tried just about everything!

I had a piece break off one and I put it in water and forgot about it. when I came back it had rooted! Now I couldn't have gotten that to happen if I had been trying. I have mostly trouble with mealy bugs. Even with wiping down every surface and spraying they still seem to come back!

I've been ordering my seeds (and sometimes seedlings) from TSplants.com. She normally has several colors available each year as seeds and seedlings. She's a small grower based in Indiana, and her prices are really reasonable. She ships really quickly, too. Probably sold out for this year, but check in early spring next year.

Rick, I'm pretty sure there are no plant-police and I would propagate anything I could... if only I could (I'm a failure at even starting plants from seed).

I love Texas Bluebells! We had some show up wild in our yard in Montgomery, Texas one year. They stuck around for a few years, and then disappeared. I found some sold as annuals in Home Depot last year. Overwintered them outdoors in pots, with a sheet thrown over them when it froze (because they're hardy here, but...y'know, pots).

I've read before that they became so popular in Japan that Japanese wildflower seekers drove them to endangerment here in their native Texas. Most of the versions you see commercially are either grown in Japan or grown in the USA from Japanese seed.

Supposedly they will spread more over winter if you trim back to 3-5" above ground at first frost. Last year when I did that, I stuck all of cuttings (about 8) in a pot. I think I hadn't bought rooting hormone yet, but can't remember. 1 of the 8 made it. The plants DID spread nicely over the winter. I tried dividing the largest one into 3 this spring when I put them in the ground, and that did NOT go well. 2 of the 3 died immediately, and the last 1/3 is clinging to life.

I've never even seen a Texas bluebell, other than in photos. Maybe some day...
