DEAL! Mojitos are impossible to find at our local box nurseries. But I did score some big 3 gallon Coffee Cups for $6. I think there are at least 6 bulbs in there!

Cheryl I love my local Nursery. They are what you would expect from a Nursery vs a big box store. Her mother started this nursery 30 years ago and she has continued in such a wonderful way. She makes sure she is carrying plants that Home Depot or Lowes carry. Fair pricing and sales that will knock you socks off. I have gotten some wonderful bushes and perennial plants for 75% off every Spring. Any plants that they carry over from the last fall they sell for 75% off.

Also if I want something for next year if I tell her now she will add it to her order and I get gallon size plants and not those little expensive tiny pots we get when we order online so 2014 I can purchase a plant I want that is a real gallon size plant.

I, too have my favorite mom and pop nursery. I never fail to spend money there at Natius'. Sr. Natius is so helpful and his plants are so healthy and fair on pricing. I can get 6 packs there that will double their size before the ones at the box stores to. The plants that or don't do well, go dormant, or out grow their pots are not sold, but taken to the back and wintered over, brought back to good health, or repotted. Sr. Natius then sells a bigger plant the following year.

I am sorry I left out a word of NOT. in this sentence.

"She makes sure she is carrying plants that Home Depot or Lowes carry. "

I know if I want a plant that is different I can go to her nursery. She let the big box stores sell the knouckout roses and she carries the other roses that are hardy to our climate.

The big box and walmart are chasing out the good local nurseries. We have to support them.

I gotta quit going to these 75% off plant sales. The specimens look great and I am out of room! Just because they are a bargain doesn't mean I have to have them, right? RIGHT?! WRONG!

Good luck with that!
Out of room...I'm going to be out of ROOMS by the time I haul everything in...
I drive past a sunshine style nursury, all junk mostly but locally grown atleast... They have giant pots planted up with bananas and EE, I keep thinkin... Just the pots are worth $20 each, not even counting plants, but I keep drivin past... I know I have every variety they do, and I just can't get more... So I just can't even stop... They just put up the 75% off sign... Crying
Please tree mail me for trades, I'm ALWAYS actively looking for more new plants, and love to trade!

I used to go to North Lima, Ohio to a great nursery. They sold everything and anything. Every year I would spend at least $200 or more and saying that's the last time, until next year. One day, I pulled up and the gates were closed and locked. Never did find out what happened. What a loss.
