Do any of you ever order from Forest Farm? 4 years ago I ordered a Winterberry from them called 'Winter Gold.' I waited this long for berries and the stupid thing has red berries on it. Isn't it frustrating when you wait so long and people send you the wrong plant? I doubt they'll refund my money, but I will think twice about ordering this kind of item from them in the future.

I ordered many shrubs from FF but it has been many many years. Everything grew well and was the correct plant.

Their shipping rates were high so I never tried them.

I'm trying to make a row of different colors of winterberries at the edge of my back yard. I like looking at them in the winter. I wish I could find them locally with berries already on them.

I never did like the shipping rates, but I was willing to pay so I could get some specific colors of Cheyenne Spirit and when I put in the order it said, 'NOT SHIPPING TO YOUR ZONE'. Grumbling

Their shipping was ok back then. I hope they will do something since they screwed up my idea.

I am trying another source. I found a yellow winterberry too. The one from Forest Farm is small enough to move still if necessary.

I got a nice SPRITE winterberry from Niche Gardens. I would have ordered three or four from Forest Farm but the shipping would have been 50.00 and that defeats the purpose of ordering.

Ilex verticillata 'Red Sprite' (Aquifoliaceae) is a dwarf winterberry with big red berries. Keep in mind if you decide to buy a winterberry, that they need a pollinator. I have one Jim Dandy and about 5 females, I think JD can pollinate up to 20 females. That is probably why they call him, 'Jim Dandy.' Like Susan, I have Red Sprite and Jim Dandy. These are a favorite wintertime shrub. Those red berries against show are striking. Birds eat them for winter food.

Rita is the one that educated me about winterberries and I do love helping the birds. Thumbs up (thanks Rita!)
