It's not dead, I don't think. Do you know what species it is supposed to have been? Some can look pretty funky.

squishy is a bad sign unless it's just really dehydrated. Rotten squishy would be bad.
The species looks correct.
You know there is a place you can buy these sort of things here....

In my experience a decapitated Pachypodium will branch from the broken part. A picture would be helpful.

Hello Plumactus25! I think your pachy still has a chance..I still see a pair of good tips there. Maybe it is just quite dehydrated. Best to keep it warm and plant in a very porous media and lightly water it, just to help wake up the roots. If temps continue to go warm in your area, it may just scab over that portion that looks dicey.

Hello gwen1234! Same with your plant, keep it dry and succulent may just scab over and try to regrow a new leaf or branch on the cut off area. Good luck!

Just think what these plants go thru in nature. Going hot dry and maybe a aminal kicking it up to see if it's good to eat. Yet they grow back. I thought the plant look good untill I heard mussy. Keep warm in sunny window. Plant in pure pumace or perlite. Spray miss a little every few days. I don't have any but some Euphorbia from same area. Pachy is on my next order come next spring. Please keep us posted on how it turns out.
