I always thought that once you harvested the fruit the plant died. Now that I think about it I do remember seeing smaller fruits coming out the side of plants in a commercial field.

I hadn't dumped mine after I cut the fruit and today I noticed a new bud coming out.

Neat! I have one, got it last year as a pup .. don't know when or if it will ever make a fruit.

That looks nice! I wanted to try again to grow one. My rooting attempt failed..oh well.

I find some people try to root pineapple tops with flesh still on the stem - by letting it dry out or something. I've gotten 100% success by cutting the stem completely away from the fruit and pulling off bottom leaves until I have about an inch of white showing then just stick it in soil and keep the soil moderately moist. Works every time for me.

Oh I did that....but decided to try to root in water, just for fun..I may have been too impatient, pulled it out and into soil..then cold weather came....but it will be one of those things I will try again.
