Do any of you grow Dutchess of Edinburgh? Anyone out there have experience with this one? I have a customer that wants one quite badly because of it's beauty. However she is concerned after reading that all parts of it are poisonous, and can cause allergic reactions while working around it. Any comments would be appreciated... Thanks!

I grow Duchess of Edinburgh and I'm highly prone to dermatitis, but I've never had a problem with any Clematis vine. I tried to find some research on this, but when I search for "clematis Duchess of Edinburgh allergy," the only site that comes back with all of those words is Dave's Garden Plant Files. I don't know where they got that information. I can't find it anywhere else.

ZuZu Thanks for your reply... The Duchess sure has beautiful blooms. I guess I am interested because I had never heard of any Clems being poisonous. I too am kind of prone to skin reactions from plants and I want to be careful if we do put this one in her garden.
