Thanks for the kind words, everyone! I'm so anxious for spring and summer this year, as this will be Year 3 in the garden for most plants at this house. That's always when they start having a great show. We'll also be finishing up our large front bed this year (FINALLY!) so I'll be able to post pictures of it as well.

I hope everybody posts some shots of their garden, even if not a full tour, so we can share in your space too. My coffee's ready; I want a stroll!

I've gone thru your gardens several times in order to take in all their glories. They are beautiful, Evey, and your descriptions make us feel as though we are really in them.

Thank you.

Thank you, all. I can hardly wait for spring when I can take more! I'm hopeful that most plants will rebound after all of our cold weather, but I fear the shade garden took it hard. We'll see...

Stephanie, I do hope you contribute a garden tour here! We'd all love to see what you have planted too. =)

Evey...I would love to contribute a garden tour...are deep South people who need to be educated on how to grow climatis in the heat (and just love them) allowed? Can I substitute Passion flower? (about the closest thing I can grow right now)

Climatis are really one of my favorites. I need to find and scan a photo of my Mom's Climatis up north, from many years ago. She just had the most incredible green thumb with everything she grew!

Thanks for the great cubit!

Kat

Kat, any gardens are welcome here, and I would LOVE a tour of your gardens to appear in the cubit! Your home is absolutely gorgeous and your lanai is something I have long dreamed of recreating here (ah, if only I had the space... and the money... and your vision... !!!!). So, yes, please do post your tour. We've all got our coffee cups and are ready for the morning stroll!

Thanks, Sandy! We've only been here about 3-1/2 years, so it's still very much a work in progress. We had a huge number of unexpected repairs to make when we first moved in (lots of hidden defects, unfortunately), so the landscaping was delayed for a while. It's exciting to see everything take shape... and this year we can finally give the gardens the attention they deserve!

Very very pretty. I just love your patio/covered area back by the carport. We had something similar when we lived in Calif and we spent a lot of time out there. We don't have that here and I really miss it.

Thanks, all. I'm glad you dropped by!

Joanna, we had a snow/sleet mix again this morning. This is the fourth time for snow this season and my poor tropicals are decidedly unhappy about it! I'll post pictures this spring to show what did or did not make it through (sadly, I am fairly certain that a majority of the shade garden is gone for good now). The up side to this is that now I can say with certainty which of my plants can survive a bit further north when I trade with friends.

The house and garden have 'southern charm' all over them! How lovely they are.. I am not familiar with that pink flowered tree, but that is a beautiful thing! I would be just fine with that kind of pink snow.
I am struck by how well all of your hardscape matches the style of your home. It all fits so perfectly well together and looks like it was simply meant to be. I particularly like the photo of the 'Lively' side of the house. I'm pretty sure that the side of most people's houses don't look that nice! I'm looking forward to seeing photos in the spring and summer, and especially of your clematis grown with all those roses. 100+ cultivars? Wow!

Also, I am completely envious of your outdoor 'room'. No can do here. Well, maybe two months out of the year, but not after the sun goes down.

Lovely gardens, Evey. I can't wait to see more pictures as your clems grow. Beautiful trellises, even without clems adorning them.

Thanks, Polly. The clems are starting to show some green leaves just emerging now, even though we just had snow and sleet again last week. I think they are determined to stay "on schedule" by the calender regardless of the weather! =)
