Hi Everyone.

So, I'm 2 weeks into my "plastic bag rooting" experiment and I've run into an issue. After closely inspecting this evening, I've found what looks to be rot under the electrical tape. It's at the point where the plastic bag was wrapped around and taped closed. So, far this is the only one out of the four I'm doing this with.

If it IS rot, is there any saving this one? I've read about Tarev putting his in water...?

Any suggestions?

Hm, it's got new growth going there, so it's not dying.

I'd just cut it off clean, above the shrunken section, let it scab over, then root it normally either in water or moist rooting medium.

To be honest, I'd call the plastic bag experiment a failure at this point. Probably kept that section of the stem too damp.

Awww..sorry to see that stem rot. Agree with Elaine & Hetty. Hope you can save the cutting.

cut it off in the area of healthy tissue, and see if you can save the stem.
