@Trish -- I like the Team This - Team That ideas that pop up occasionally. I think it might be easier to navigate if the idea person (Trish usually or perhaps always?) would also open a thread for Team This, Team That, and Team Both or something along those lines. I often don't have the time to read through ALL the various threads that are generated and usually pick the ones that have the most comments for each team. I can then add comments to my team, but also gain perspective from reviewing the comments for the other team. Just a thought.

Deb: You can find all of the Team This/That by clicking on the Ideas icon at the top and type the word Team in the search box; it brings up all of the Team This/That ideas and you can then look at the topics and see if you want to read/comment. Is that what you meant? : http://garden.org/ideas/search...

I think Deb is suggesting that after the article, I start two different threads, one for each Team. Although, here on ATP, we almost always need another or two...team "neither" and/or team "both" Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks for the suggestion, Deb- I'll certainlly keep it in mind! I was just thinking that I should think up some more Team articles for this winter!

I agree!

Put three ATP members in a thread, and you'll get at least four opinions.

Gee, who would be on the other team? Confused

---- On second thought, maybe it would be me! I don't have time to do that all winter. (Although I could dream about it. Hilarious! ) Even though I live where winters are about the longest in the lower 48 states, garden projects keep me busy the entire winter.

I used to enjoy a little "pellet stove" in the front room and liked the fact that it stopped the furnace from coming on. Then I realized that this made the rest of the house, like my bedroom, REALLY COLD.

Well, "really cold" by coastal PNW standards. Not by Minnesota standards. Probably our "deep winter" is like your "late spring, early summer".

Rolling on the floor laughing I live in coastal central Florida and we have a wood burning fireplace. It doesn't get a whole lot of use but it is nice in winter when we have the rare frigid night and I can build a nice comfy, roaring fire. Lovey dubby

For those without a fireplace, how about a nice fire pit out by the patio or the back garden, a circle of assorted seats for friends to sit and visit a while, some refreshments. Look, is that a shooting star!?

Every place I have ever lived has ended up with a new firepit. And not one of those cheesy, barely big enough for two small logs to fit into types. I mean the kind of thing you can burn a pile of stumps in. The kind of thing you can burn 20 used x-mas trees in. A firepit.

I am afraid to ask, but I am going to anyhow......what is this team concept? One thing I like about ATP is there are no "clicks", and everyone is welcome anyplace....not like some other places I know and have seen it happen. I honestly missed the "idea" and to save time I would like to be pointed in the right direction. Thanks.

I hadn't thought of it in this light but if you look at Team Gloves or Team Bare Hands? I don't think you'll find anything cliquey or even teamy for that matter. Just fun(ny), especially the pic for Team Shoes or Team Barefoot?.

I missed the beginning of this because I am still not sure what is the purpose of the Team? Or are you just thinking of threads with team names? Sorry to be so confused but I am old...........that is my only excuse. Will these teams be in the Sandbox, if so, then I understand. nodding

Now I understand and now I know why I was not aware of the Team ideas. I seldom have time to read all the wonderful "garden" articles...to be honest, with only one good eye, I have to save it for things I am involved in and of course, ATP posts....I seldom read any books anymore or even articles in magazines I used to love to read. Not making excuses but I know I am missing so much, but since I do not "garden" anymore, I skim over things and read what interests me. ATP has the best articles and subjects of any garden group I know of.

Forgive me for any confusion I may have caused but I was so afraid something would happen to this wonderful environment we have here. Thank you for explaining. Lovey dubby
