Jacquie,

I think most of us came here two years ago a little scorched around the edges from scratches and burns we might have received in other places. We weren't sure that this new place would be any different. But once here, we settled in and found the neighborhood we were looking for all along.

The big difference is that ATP is member oriented. What we ask for, we usually get if it's workable. And if it isn't workable, we are told why. Our database and our recommendations and our ideas/articles are all from members. If @dave comes up with a new idea, new process, he throws it out to the members to see how it flies. If the members love it, then it's a go and if not, then it's reworked or pushed aside. And if you notice he gives kind consideration to every request, no matter how small or insignificant.

I think the fact that every new member feels quickly comfortable and accepted here, spreads its way around the forums, making it easy to feel right at home, no matter where we come from or what we left behind. And that comfort zone is within anybody's grasp. It isn't like we have to be in some kind of elite group in order to fit in.

Bottom line is there is no other site nearly as member oriented; so just sit back and enjoy. And @JB , we learn so much from you. I'm glad you take the time to share your knowledge and your experience with all of us. Thanks for being a part of this group. Smiling

Thank you, I am just so happy to be here and out of the petty stuff that goes on in other places I just do not want it to change. Dave has been just super and we all know the move was not easy but he is a survivor and now he has the best of any out there.....and it is still growing...hopefully leaving those troublemakers behind.

You are too kind........I have my faults like all people, but trying to be perfect makes me tired, so what you see is what you get and I am far from perfect but I am loveable...... Lovey dubby

I am here to stay until I can no longer use this keyboard. I hope. Love you for being so nice Sharon. God Bless.

Well, shoot. If I'd known y'all were going to read what I wrote I would have edited the post before sending.
I must have been feeling particularly redundant today.

Thanks - I love, love, love thumbs and acorns. Y'all are the best! *Blush*

(Now that it's too late I'll go back to the post and do the edit thing.)

@JB I am so happy you posted those questions. You said everything that I was thinking and said it very well. I was so confused that I just sat back and waited hoping the a beam of divine light would shine on my brain to help me understand the whole 'team' thing. I get it now.

I was always picked last on any school teams, but if we are just gonna be silly and make light of things, now THAT is something I can participate in. [My daughter would correct my grammar and make me write ...'something in which I can participate'...but she's busy cooking dinner and can't see what I am typing.]

Do I get to shake the pom poms now?

>> THAT is something I can participate in.

I agree! And I agree in ending sentences with prepositions when we want to.

Winston Churchill said something like this, when someone tried to correct HIS syntax:

"This is the kind of arrant pedantry up with which I will not put."

http://public.wsu.edu/~brians/...

One of the great "Team" threads was about Latin plant names vs common names. Usually the "Team" questions brought out threads for one way, the other way, and both ways. I seem to recall that one had more than just three sides. There were certainly many advantages and disadvantages brought forth.

In school, we loved to argue about things. When we started to run out of steam, one or more people would change sides just to keep it interesting.

@JB, thanks for asking, I had no idea what they were talking about and I was getting concerned there would be divisions! Whew, my mind is at ease!
