Just checking to see if there is another article on the pinch pots - I would love to see a whole tutorial on it, step by step.

I just re-read the entire thread and I did say I'd do a tutorial article. Boy, I'll say things got away from me - that was back in August!! I don't have any new pictures to add to an article other than what is in this thread though.

I've made some using the big ziploc bags but I don't think they're as cute as the little ones. Jacki, glad you're saving bags. Looking forward to seeing pictures of yours!

Chris the photos in this thread are great for an article.

I did do some just this weekend, and posted in another thread of course. I couldn't find this thread! I thought I remembered soaking, but I got that part wrong. I'll have to go and take my pots out of the water bath. Oh boy. I made three larger pinch pots, and eight smaller ones, plus got so carried away that I made a second batch and did a birdbath and another sag pot using soil for a mold. Lots of fun!

You can just soak them instead of putting in a bag to mist them. It accomplishes the same thing.

Oh phew! I did soak them, but after I read about the plastic bag, I though I should do that instead. So, I've done some of each, as I ran out of bags. I get the impression that it's pretty forgiving, so hopefully they will all work.

I'm sure they'll be fine. I'm excited for you - it's so much fun to make and the planting part is even better!

I don't know Jacki - they're predicting mixed rain/snow for us today too.

Happy to report that my little pinch pot of Ali made it through the winter and is looking pretty good!

It's look fabulous Chris. Doesn't look like it went through any hardship at all. I love the Ali you sent me last year, it is really doing well inspite of record breaking wet winter and sping. Great plant.

It is a tough little plant. Last fall the voles dug up every single one of my Ali's that were planted in the ground. They didn't have much time to get re-established but they survived the winter fine.

Here's the one ones you sent me last year. In spite of Bill and the birds they finally got going and made nice root systems. : )
