Great tip...also like the part about putting down the coffee. I am guilty of trying to do a two handed job with one.

Yes, putting down the coffee would be difficult for me too!

This is a fantastic tip -- thank you so much Char! I have used a leaf or two to loop around two or three scapes to draw them together to take pictures of a few blooms together, but it never would have occurred to me to tie a leaf to a scape in order to pull it to a more upright position. I do run around with those circle stakes, as much to protect some scapes from clumsy old me as I'm famous for breaking them off unless there's a stake there for me to beware of, or to protect the scapes when carrying daylilies around in pots -- but the leaf tying idea is terrific!

A truly valuable idea!

You and me both, Natalie! I never feel like I can come up with a new "useful" idea. I've been giving it a lot of thought lately though. Wish I could come up with something to submit in the ideas section.

Well, I am a couple of years late to this party but using a leaf to tie a scape is brilliant!! I have a big yellow daylily that is always floppy. I had to stake it up today. Now I will go out and tie those scapes up! Hurray!
